Florida Key's recommendations
We are a bit behind the ball on scheduling as we just decided to go, but we really want to stay in the keys somewhere, but all the state park reservations are full. Any recommendations for a kid friendly rv park that is right on the water?
let me know, thanks.

Hi thirst4more,
I do not know of any private CGs with a good beach. However, consider Sunshine Key RV Resort at mile marker 39. I know it has received some bad press lately, but I have been going there for years and have not had any problems. None at all. The web site is Sunshine Key RV Resort and Marina Reservations | Big Pine Key Campgrounds .
2 miles south of the Resort is Bahia Honda State Park. A nicer beach will be difficult to find. Their web site is Bahia Honda State Park, Florida Keys Beach, Beaches in the Keys, State Park in the Keys, Florida Keys State Park, Public Beach Florida Parks .
There is plenty to do just north or south of the resort. Waiting for the Key Deer at sunset. The kids will love it. If you want more info on this post here or PM me. Just north of the 7 mile bridge is the Sea Turtle Rehab Hospital. This is something for kids and adults. One can go to Key West (39 miles away). Let me know if you want to know where to park and what to do. In the daytime this is a nice outing for kids and adults.
I visit the Keys as an individual and as a rally host. If you have any questions, post here or PM me.

We stayed at Boyds last May, the place is beautiful ! The public transportation
is quite unpredictable. We opted to drive in each day. If you going to run the bars, you could leave your car in town and take a taxi back
to Boyds. Shuttle or taxi back in the morning. Don't miss the sunset
celebration at Mallory Square each evening. Trip to Dry Tortugas and
snorkeling is a lot of fun, albeit a 5 hour round trip boat ride.
Two nice restaurants near Boyds, but you'll want to drive. Ask them
for info. Have fun.

We've been going to the Sugarloaf Key for Easter the last 4 years. Will be back there on April 18. It is right on the water with a marina and swimming beach with a water trampoline. No waves but it does have sand. PLENTY of kids.
Many of the FL schools had spring break last week so you may be able to get a site for April.

Another vote for Boyds. We spent last christmas there and had a great time. We stayed on site 118 and have reservations to go back this Christmas although I also made reservations for Dauphin island and have yet to make up my mind

decided
to stay at KOA Sugar Loaf, it's on the water, has a beach, pool and few other fun things that our kids will love, so we think! thanks for all the good advice. Boyds sounds great, but no beach to swim at.
