Florida Keys to Ameilia Island - Recommendation???

We are leaving the keys in the next couple weeks and making our way to Amellia Island(NE Florida). Any recommendations on campgrounds along the way would be appreciated. We have about a week to make the trip.
Thanks for your help, Jeff

We have done that route a few times and have stayed at the following:

- Daytona KOA - track tour is real interesting
- Beverly Beach Camptown - Flagler Beach, sites right on the ocean. Great breakfast place in town.
- Long Pine Key Campground in the Everglades - find a site BEFORE it gets dark...
- Highbanks Marina and Camp in Debary, FL. On site restaurant and entertainment
- Ft. Wilderness - got to stay there at least once!

If going soon, stop a see a spring training baseball game too.

While in Amelia, take a boat ride to Cumberland Island and tour the Plum Mansion, see the wild ponies and the ruins of a Carnegie mansion.

X2 on Long Pine Key CG in the Everglades. Not too far out of the way and well worth a visit for a couple of nights. Take the boat ride from Flamingo Bay into the park.

Daytona Beach, beware of bike week in early March (2nd weekend). You will pay through the nose then. But if you get here early, we would recommend the International RV Park over the KOA. PA accepted.

Jetty Park is a good option to Daytona Beach and a visit to the space center is a must if you have never been.

Then there is always St Augustine, St Johns RV Park is ok and also takes PA.

We stayed here on the way down to Boyd's. Very quiet, they treated us well.

Miami Everglades Resort is about a 4-5 hour drive from Key West.

We stay every Christmas time at Johnathan Dickinson SP Welcome to Florida State Parks to visit with DW's folks. The Pine Grove CG is very nice. At only about $26 + taxes & stuff it is a bargain. I don't think it will quite half your trip though.

Be aware if you are headed to Ft Clinch the Beach CG is closed to make the baths ADA compliant. The River CG is nice but we found it a little tight to navigate in a 40'er.
