Several weeks ago I attended a car show and a friend told me that he had discovered a great way to remove love bugs (and bugs in general) from your car. He said to get a squirt bottle and fill with water and add a "Bounce" fabric softener sheet that you use in the clothes dryer, shake it up and squirt those bugs! Let set for about 5 minutes and spray the affected area with a hose with a spray attachment and.......................watch the bugs slide right off! Amazing!

I just returned from Orlando and the front of my car was covered with bugs. This worked!

Some of you may already be aware of this, but if you were not, this is a wonderful way to attack these bugs without all the scrubbing!

I just tried this. I found I did still have to rub them a bit, but a whole lot less than normal. This does seem to work much better than the dryer sheet on the scrubby pad. The dryer sheet on the scrubby makes a film mess that you have to make sure you wash off. This doesnt seem to make the same film. Thanks for the tip!

If really "dry" once rehydrated the bug entrails and hard exoskeleton remnants can be removed carefully from Corvettes.. They squash bugs at higher velocity.

Also, the Corvette will be washed quickly, not after a several day trip as our RVS tend to be.

I wonder if the remedies mentioned are safe to apply to a 3M front film shield. The instructions that came with it said no petroleum products. Not sure what else is a no-no.

I have a friend who wraps his clean freshly waxed front of car and motorcycle in Saran Wrap. Peels off layers when he can't stand the look. To each his own I suppose.

While washing my MH at home I was getting Love Bugs. I am sure I will get a lot when we head to Florida later this week.

Left Tampa Wednesday with a clean coach. After driving North on I-75 to Ocala, Fl the front windshield looked like a war zone for Love bugs. After we got past the Gainesville area we ran into less and less of them, but going South it's bad right now. So keep all your drier sheets and other solutions handy you're going to need them.

Well we're half way through our two week Florida tour.
Only ran into a small patch of bugs around Gainsville heading south.

Tried the dryer sheets in a spray bottle with soapy water.
The bugs almost slid off the front of my truck.
On the front of the 5'ver I had to scrub them a bit with my long handled brush.
Used a dryer sheet directly on a few tougher ones and they came right off.

Thanks for the tips!
