Funny, there's probably 10 or 12 vacant sites at a premium condo park near Lake Wales where my folks are. It's always that way it seems.

If the CDN Dollar keeps sliding, there will likely be some open spaces next season. We live in Osoyoos, BC and have noticed a lot more Prairie Chickens this winter because of the drop in the dollar and increase in health insurance.

Lots of spaces in Frostproof, FL. Must be over a dozen here in Camp Inn and I've been is several other parks in the area, all with space available.

I would assume the disappointment would be in not getting a site.

It can't be the weather. We've had 70's and even into the 80's for a long time now....and sun every day. Awesome!

They call this area North Central Fl. (upper part of central Fl., closer to the Gulf side) It's just south of Ocala (2-3 miles?), maybe 20 minutes West of I-75. It's listed and set up as an equestrian park, so nearly always empty, with spaces available to anyone. Mountain bikers and hikers will like all the trails.

ROSS PRAIRIE, FL - Campground & Camping Details - ReserveAmerica - [FL]

We used it quite a bit when we were down here house hunting during spring break with no advance reservations. RARELY were there more than 4-5 rigs overnight. Sites to check out first were 3, 4, and 5. More details, feel free to PM.
