Florida Panhandle

well while visiting fl for 2 monthe, we traveled to the panhandle ahd stayed in 2 parks for a week each. the weather here is colder then the rest of fl and just plaine lousier then the lower fl, yet the kids are all over the place .

The panhandle is often referred to as 'lower Alabama" by residents _ in Alabama. We didn't like the weather there either.

We love the panhandle, but not in winter. There's a reason rates drop by 50%(or more) in many panhandle parks over the winter.

Jan and Feb we go to the Keys, our wetest coldest months, very nice here now, 75 today and sun.

For the best temps. in winter you need to be below I-4, which intersects the state. We've stayed in the Ocala area before, but this year we went further south to Frostproof, which was 8-10 degrees warmer than Ocala.

Panhandle is often 15F colder then the Ocala area in winter. And there is the wind chill also. Its all part of the Redneck Rivera. East coast of Florida south of Orlando is nice weather in winter.
