We are looking for a campground for Jan, Feb. 2008. We called the campground where we were to stay and were told they are full. They took in full timers from local campgrounds that closed.Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Check out the Trav-L-Park at Jennings Florida, just 5 miles over the Georgia line on I-75. Nice park, lake, restaurants, has long term section.

The GA-FL state line is rather lengthy. Where would you be interested in? The price? Do you want to be close to the interstate (usually more $$) or would a little distance away be okay? And what kind of amenties do you require? I think we are fairly close to the interstate (about 16-18 miles from I-75 Exit 101). The winter rates here are $250/monthly for full hookups (some 50 amp hookups). No cable, no laundry, no store, not much of anything and not listed in any campground directory that I have found (but I have listed it in a couple online park reviews). We will be back for a few months at the beginning of the year. It's quiet out here and we like it.

You will probably ned to find a temporary campground and the do a little searching in the area for a long term campground. There's lots of perfectly nice campgrounds that do not advertise in directories.

Lorna, the camp ground we where going to stay at is in Davenport FL. Their monthly rate is $379 plus electric and various taxes. They have full hookups. Also there is activities during the winter months. This is our first time at snowbirding so we are open to try just about anything within reason.

Activites David and I play "tourist". We are into vintage architecture and like to find old buildings. I take lots of pictures of the details. But that's what floats our boat....
