I live minutes from Foley, far better for a family, I think N.O. is a cesspool

Heritage and Bella are nice, but I like the Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama has nice state parks, all kinds of bike trails for the kids. There is also a place on 59 called Johnnys that has like a mini water park in the campground. Canal road (180) in Gulf Shores has Docs and Island Retreat both average campgrounds

Lamberts is cool, Lulus IMHO is a tourist trap, if you want good food go to Wolfe Bay Lodge in either Elberta or Orange Beach

Try to visit Fairhope its only 15 mins from Foley and is a beautiful bay front town.

PM me if you need to, Im a local

Only crime is Aaronville, luckily no campgrounds or good food near there.

Used to be none at all here in Baldwin county, Motorhome sat beside the house unlocked keys in it, same for the boat and cars, never locked the house.

Got to thinking there is Alligator Alley here too. They are also starting to build some Blue Collar Comedy park here too

Another great thing is the Pensacola Naval Air Station, free to park free to get it, but there is a donation box.

I think Dad, Mom and the kids would have a blast here.

Just another good locals eat, Fish River Grill, on 59 in Foley south of 98 or their "little shack" on 32 east of 181 west of 9 in the Marlow Community (Fairhope)

Gulf Shores State Park gets my vote. Haven't stayed there but we checked it out when we were at Bella Terra, was not impressed with Bella Terra. We like to take the grandchildren camping and I plan to take them to Gulf Shores this summer. Beautiful pool area, great sites, close to the beach lots to do. Don't forget the new fishing pier on the beach. Hope you have a great time!!
