Fort Clinch State Park (Amelia Island)

Has anyone stayed at the RV park in Fort Clinch near Amelia Island, Florida? I have made reservations and am going to meet my sister from Okla. there. My sister will have a rental car, she is flying in to Jacksonville, and I am thinking of taking my golf cart so we can ride around the park, is this a good idea? The website says they have 30amp and water, do they have sewer hook-ups? Any recommendations on good places to eat dinner there. Also the website says the gate closes at 5pm, can we go out for dinner and still get back in? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Golf carts are now allowed in FSP's, but you may want to verify with ranger station
It is a W&E only. They do have a dump station
There are several good dining spots. Try some of the spots on Center St, or maybe Barbara Jeans.
They will give you the gate combination when you check in

Fernandina Bch is a very nice small town with a pirate history. Ft Clinch is a great state park

You will enjoy this area. The CG is like many State parks, they are dirt sites, but paved roads. The bath houses are old but functional. Do you have a pole saw? Comes in handy in state parks. Your sister will have an easy drive from the airport since it is not that far away. Several good seafood rest in town. BTW the CG is located inside the town, so it makes it nice. If you plan on going to Jax, take the new bridge to Jax beach. On Southside Bldv, go towards Jax and get off before you cross the intercostal bridge. There is a very good seafood rest there and very reasonable. Have a good trip s/Toby
