City of Sunrise, FL : Markham Park Markham Park.

We stayed there three years ago. They have 86 full hookup sites that are pretty good size.

If your MH is larger than 30' stay away from Paradise Island RV Resort in Ft Lauderdale. It is nothing like it's name. It is old, had power bumps everyday we were there & the very narrow streets can't accomodate any thing beyond 30' if you value your MH. On the plus side it was cheap & the staff there was nice.

Do a search of www.rvparkreviews.com, you will be able to see the parks there and read reviews, made by other RV'ers. I live in Tampa and would recommend Lazy Days RV Park. There are others of course, but not as nice.

We really like Easterlin park in Oakland Park in the Fort Lauderdale area. Close In, but right next to RR Tracks. It's a county park like Markham, but much closer to Ft L and the beach. Full hookups, but no cable tv, but many OTA TV stations, lots of trees so satellite would not be good. Rate is $40/day. If you go, I recommend Old Florida Seafood on NE 26 St in Wilton Manors.

I live in Fort Lauderdale and whenever I need to quick getaway I go to Markham Park. It is very big with lots of things to do. It has security at night but you don't need it. Full hook ups with 50 Amp service. The park is just off of I-75 so if you are coming from Tampa it would be easy to get to. I would not drive my MH on I-595 because of the construction. I live here and can't keep up with all of the exit changes.

Another good choice in the greater Fort lauderdale area is CB Smith park. It is a Broward County park very spacious with full hookups. No cable but good OTA and satellite reception. There is a major shopping area nearby with dozens of restaurants and every chain store you can imagine. It is close to I-75 which gives fast access to Miami, but is a little farther from Fort Lauderdale than the others mentioned.

Hillsborough River SP

Pinellas County, Florida, Park and Conservation Resources - Camping Information

BTW ... I am assuming you are driving the Thor 30 ft. Lot's of parks available at that length ... fewer at over 40 ft.

we are heading to the Tampa area in March to watch some Yankees Spring training games. What do you know about Happy Travelers Rv campground, or can you recommend A reasonable site near by Yankees stadium.

Lazydays RV Park in Seffner is approx 16 miles to Steinbrenner field. Great site and price includes breakfast and lunch.
