Ft. Myers is huge, there are a lot of RV parks around the city and outlying area.
Ft. Myers Beach city has a lot too, many are within 2 miles of the island and huge public city beach.
Indian Creek RV resort is perhaps the largest and nicest place to stay for $385/week (short-term pricing). There are benefits to staying here, they have a stoplight which makes entering San Carlos Blvd. easy in heavy traffic to the beach. Their website tells it all.
