Fort Pickens First week of Nov

We're heading down to Fort Pickens the first week of Nov. I've scouted out stuff do to and see in the area, including the Blue Angles practices and the show over the weekend.

Questions I have are...

A) What kind of weather can I expect in Pensacola during that time?

B) Anyone else from irv2 going to be there during that time?

You'll be there during hurricane season which runs thru the end of November I believe. Can't guarantee you'll get to experience a hurricane but there's always a possibility you'll have stories for the grandkids.

We haven't been there in a number of years (couple months before Hurricane Ivan did a number on the area) but Blue Angels practicing overhead almost daily was incredible.

Have a good one.

We live in the area, you stand a better chance of winning the lottery than dealing with a hurricane in November. Go to the navel aviation museum while you are hear and enjoy the white beaches and beautiful water.

We live nearby. Best time of year to be here. Plenty to do and not crowded. Enjoy!

You'll drive right past my house on your way to Fort Pickens. I agree you're not all that likely to have a hurricane, but nobody can guarantee that this far out.

Weather at the beginning of November can be cool to chilly at night (in the opinion of us native Floridians) but usually warms up nicely during the day. Depending on how cold the water is where you come from, the Gulf could be too chilly for you or finally getting cooled off enough to be refreshing. Most years I'm still wearing shorts and wading in the water on my daily walks. But sometimes I'm bundled in a sweat shirt and staying dry. And that can all happen in the same week.

Regardless of the temps, the sunsets at that time of year are absolutely stunning. An extra bonus - the mosquitoes and no-see-ums are pretty much non-existent by then.

Come on down and enjoy our gorgeous island. And feel free to let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Absolutely do not miss the Museum of Naval Aviation. It is on the base, right where the bleachers are for watching the Blues practice. They fly early in the AM.
