Question Fort Whaley, Ocean City MD

Does anyone have any info or experience camping at Fort Whaley, Ocean City, MD.
Castaways campground is getting way too expensive.

We seasoned at a campground near there for a few years. and herd good things about it. but it is not as close to the beach as you think. just ti get to the beach on a holday weekend could take a hour of stop and go traffic.

Have camped there twice...it's quiet and clean. Just an average campground but too far from beach. They do have a shuttle bus but you still sit in traffic on those bad days. I prefer roughing it some at Assateague State Park....Castaways is way to pricey for me.

Fort Whaley is NOT in Ocean City. It is about 20 miles east of O.C. in a very rural area. It is closer to Salisbury than Ocean City. Whaleyville and the surrounding area is farm country. Known for the FLIES. I lived there for 28 years.
