We wandered around the Fort last night checking out the decorations. Amazing! There were thousands of trick-or-treaters out too. It looked like our neighborhood when I was a kid - everyone out having a good time.

I'll be there November 30th for 6 days. The Christmas decorations should be up by then.

Is it true that Florida residents only pay a third of the fee including entrance to parks?

I'm a FL resident and have never heard of such a thing. FL residents can buy annual passes at a discount and WDW offers a 3 day pass for FL residents for about $120. NO discounts for camping (the campsites are very very rarely discounted by 25%).

The Fort is the best. Expensive during the holidays. Can't beat the Christmas lights and blow ups in the campground.

Hope everyone enjoys the holidays and good health to all.

We just got back from the fort. This is our second year going down for Mickey ' s Very Merry Christmas Party. Here are a couple of pics of how we decorated the lot and golf cart.

After hearing all the good things about Ft Wilderness, I just had to try it on the way to The Keys. Thought it was great as an overall (combined with proximity to Disney World and the wooded sites that felt somewhat private (we were in the 1300's section). Didn't like that they did not guide me to my site like they would do even at a KOA. For $140/ night, I'd like an escort please!

Yeah, no escorts and some of the sites can be very challenging for bigger RVs too. Especially during the day when there are vehicles parked on sites and no one to move them. This time of year can be tough as many sites have multiple families and vehicles all over.

They over look 20 people on a site and toddlers driving golf carts but enforce a Christmas light curfew.
