WDW at Fort Wilderness is a good time but not that good for the price. I prefer a more isolated solitude when we are not visiting Mickey so we will stay in a resort for just a little more money. It was a good first time experience but not a repeater for us.

Made a last minute decision to check avaiability and got a "premium" spot starting on 1/1. No idea where it is, but $80/night. A little bit of a gamble, but if it's like the rest of Disney, even a bad spot should be pretty good.

You shouldn't have a problem with a premium site.

Tried to get the wife to agree to joining friends there for a few nights in early February. She bitterly complained about the expense, seems as we live only 20 minutes away this time of year.

If you look at the hole scheme of things camping is the cheap part. We went for a week in October and had a great time and we brought our own golf cart which is a must in my opinion. If you figure hooper passes, food and other stuff camping is a small fraction. One more thing to consider on JMONROE reply if you factor in the fixed cost of owning a 2011 rev fortwilderness should be pocket change how could you complain about $80 a day.

That's "guy logic" Rooster - not the same as "wife logic".

The good: our site in the 1400 loop was nice. Seemed like good location with easy access to everything.
The bad: first night the people across from us had 5 cars and 10 people partying till after midnight. Then a few went stumbling and driving off around 5am.
The second night the people next to us though it was cute to let their toddler blow the horn on their rental golf cart for hours on end, until I said something and almost got in a fight with the guy.
As it turned out, BOTH were renting and left the next day without "their" RV... Which explained a lot.
I find it disappointing that the campground allows this. The RVs sit on these premium spots for weeks on end with a high turnover of people who clearly don't get it and don't care.

We still had fun, but disappointed by people. Go figure.

We are in the 1000 block across from the meadows, nice and easy on off the buses.
