We usually stay in the 100 or 200 loop. This past November got stuck in the 800 which is not a preferred site and too small. We walked around the 300 loop and it looked like it would be a good one for us too. How near are you to the comfort station? With 5 special needs children we have to be close to the washer and dryers.

We were told that in order for us to stay longer than 30 days we would have to make a reservation for 30 days, then make another for the next 30, etc. Then we would have to check out and re register at the end of the 30 day periods. Is the way it is working for you too?

We have reservations there December 11,2005 thru January 2, 2006 next year. May make another trip there prior to then also.

We have a 37' with slideout and an awing that we attach the screen room to for an extra bedroom. We also pull an 8' trailer to carry all the wheel chairs and extra oxygen and other medical supplies we need for our 5 special little ones.

Happy Holidays to You all.

We've been here for a week and are staying another week. Leave Jan 1.
We stayed at Tropical Palms RV to save a few bucks. This is really a nice park.
We did go over to look at Fort Wilderness a few days ago. Looks good, especially if you want the total Disney immersion. A bit spendy during the holiday week though.
If you take a drive down 192 -- stop by site 304 on Holiday Trail Drive -- across from Old Town.
We have had a few cold days and some days in the high seventies. Great location though. Not much evident storm damage -- except many plastic signs are blown out.
Happy Holidays

Ken,

I believe 322 & 323 are right near the comfort stations. I haven't seen a map with each site indicated. Last year we had a 35 with one slide. This year it's a 38 with 3, but we should fit in almost any site in the 300. There are only a few where you can't use the awning. Call Ft Wilderness a few days before you go and explain you needs.

Yes...you can only have a 30 day reservaton at a time. So we have 3. They tell me it is because of the FL residency law. But I bet the mouse benifits some how.

I think they consider you a resident if you stay there more than 30 days. And the Florida residents receive special rates to WDW. However, they also have black out dates on their tickets.

Hey Fort Wilderness Campers!!! When you go to reserve and/or check in, be sure to ask for the Florida Resident Discount, if in fact you reside in FL. Discounts vary but can go up to 50% off the regular rates....

For all you Fort Wilderness experts, what are the best loops. We have been told the best spots are those reserved for people with pets.

We will be there in October for what I'm sure will be our first of many visits (We love visiting the mouse).

We have three wheelchair bound children so we prefer the 100 and 200 loops for acccess to the boat to the Magic Kingdom. Failing that, we like 400 which is right across the street. 1400 gives reasonable access to the Meadows areas, including the evening movie and trading post. Also check for preferred sites if you want cable tv hookups. Pets have not been a problem, and I don't know which loops are pet loops.Look at http://www.disneycampers.com/ for more information. We've met nice people from all over in any loop we've stayed in. We go at least once a year and several times in some years on annual passes.

This is what you need to show for proof of residency to get the great prices just for residents:

Proof of Florida residency is required - you must provide any one of the following:

Florida driver's license
Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
Current utility statement with your name and Florida address along with a corresponding picture ID
Florida voter's registration card with corresponding picture ID
A college ID for a Florida college
Florida-based military ID

and the site to go to , to see the great prices (Annual passholders from anywhere, also get great specials)
