Fort Wilderness

Has anyone been to Fort Wilderness lately?

It's been over a year since we have been there, we leave Wed evening for a four day camping trip over Veterans Day.

Can't wait to get there

Ron

We were just there the weekend before Halloween. It was great! Hope you have a golf cart reserved - this is the only way to get around. A great place to ride your bike. Make sure you check out the bike path/running trail from the campground to Fort Wilderness Lodge down by the stables, about a mile long. On one of my morning rides I came across 8 deer feeding on the path. What a sight to see! Love everything about Disney Fort Wilderness. We have reservations for Dec 10-12 and can't wait to go again. Have tons of fun, I know you will love it,

Fort Wilderness is a great campground with just too many things to see and do.

Unfortunately we will be unable to enjoy all of it's facilities this trip as we will be spending most of our time at the Theme parks.

We will be buying our annual Fl resident seasonal tickets that we can use this year and next year on our return trip in Oct 2011. Two years use out of one ticket

Sounds as though you are hooked! Yeah, we are too. Just can't say enough about WDFW. We also purchased passes and will use them often since we live only 1-1/2 hours away. Have fun and let us know how the Disney Xmas celebration is at nighttime.

Experience tells us not to go at Christmas as the last time we took the family, the parks were being closed at 10 a.m. as they were full....we stayed at Ft. Wilderness, went when the parks opened to those staying on site at 7 and usually left by 10:30 or 11.

The AAA discount can be used at some times during the year.

We'll be spending a week there in February. Have never been there before.

Tell me more about the golf carts...are they a necessity?

We had a GREAT time, weather was ideal, warm days and cool nights.

We didn't go to the Christmas night time show at Magic Kingdom, but my Son and future daughter-in-law went and said it was spectatular. They took movies and we got to see the show by the movies. As soon as I get the movies and pictures posted to my storage site I will post a link for viewing.

Can't wait until our return trip in Oct of 2011, maybe go a few times in between if we can afford it since we are so close.

Golf carts aren't necessary, but are a nice convience in getting around the campground if you are in a hurry. We didn't rent one because the WDW transportation was sufficient for our needs.

We were there over the holloween weekend. Couldn't believe the elaborate decorations people brought to their sites! We spent one day just in the campground looking at all the decorations and watching the golf cart parade. There were over 250 carts decorated and throwing candy to the kids. We had a super time.

Just spent a week there last month! It was great, they did screw me up with site assignments but I ended up in a great spot.

I'd go back even if I wasn't going to the parks even at $72 a night. Great clean pads, nice amenities and despite reports transportation wasn't a big deal.
