Francis Park - Kewanee, IL

Just spent a weekend at this park.

Francis Park - City of Kewanee, Illinois

Located here

http://goo.gl/maps/E0Rmh

The CG is run by the city. It isn't very big but is not very busy except for holidays and a few special events. All sites are grass and I wouldn't want to go there after a lot of rain. It only offers 30 amp service. Water is available at a central location and there is a dump station on site.

Access for my 43' MH wasn't a real big problem. I brought some longer boards for under the jacks because it was grass.

This CG is just so laid back. Checkout is sometime before 6 pm unless they have a special event.

It is only $10 a day and the 7th is free. FREE firewood also.

The park was the home of rather interesting character and a $2 per person tour is offered. You can read about the background in the link above.

It is certainly off the beaten path but if it hasn't rained much, you need a few quiet days to unwind, and enjoy a very well shaded CG (yes, Sat reception can be spotty unless you have an external dish to move around) this could be a nice place to visit.
