Ft. Myers Beach Campgrounds

We're looking at going to FT. Meyers, Florida for a few days in November. We are looking at Gulf Waters RV Resort or Indian Creek. Anyone have any comments about either? Good or Bad, greatly appreciate the help.

WE stayed at Ft Myers Beach RV Resort last March & had a ball. Sites are small & the roads are narrow but they are the friendliest bunch of campers we have ever met. We biked over to Gulf Waters to check it out but you have to rent for a minimum of a month to get a site or can be as high as three months.
I would recommed Cypress Woods RV Resort before Indian Creek.

Just a quick note...
The Red Coconut is the only campground actually on the island (where the beach is)
It is on the ocean front road (Estero Blvd.) and has 4 rows of campsites right on the beach side and many more sites on the opposite side of the street.
The sites on the beach side are VERY TIGHT. The sites on the other side of the road have a little more room.
You can walk from the capground to many of the restaurants and clubs in FMB but the Times Square area is about a 1 mile walk.

We've stayed at both Gulf Waters and Indian Creek several times and we prefer Gulf Waters. IMO, Gulf Waters is quite a bit nicer: newer, Gulf Waters is mhs only, Indian Creek is mostly mobile homes now, Gulf Waters seems to be a younger crowd but Indian Creek is still nice, can be much cheaper, is bigger so has more amenities (3 pools I think) and has more activities. The last few times we've tried to stay at Indian Creek, I don't think they had any spots available.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. If you do want to go to the beach, it's a few miles away (not like Red Coconut which is on the beach or across the road) but from either you can take a short trolley ride (when it's working - not the most reliable thing in the world) (we've also biked to the beach from GW) and we'd rather stay at either than at Red Coconut (we don't spend that much time at the beach and we'd rather have access to pool and hottub and we like having more space and doing other activities like walking or biking around the park with the kids and that's better at GW or IC)

Thanks for all the help, I think we will check out Gulf Waters as we stayed in the one on Mustang Island, Corpus Christi, Tx and it was very nice. I'll look into Cypress Woods also. The Signature Resort is a little too far south as we will be spending most of our time in FT Meyers. Thanks again....

Yes, we were at Red Coconut and found it too crowded with tiny sites. San Carlos is right across the bridge and worked out well for us.
