Greetings,

We are looking at camping options for the Ft. Walton, Florida area. We have friends that we are going to see Christmas week. There is a site called Playground RV Park, but I know nothing about it. Has anyone ever stayed there? Might you have other recommendations? There doesn't seem to be much in the area unless you go back east to Destin or west to Pensecola.

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Regards

Ncsoar,

I've moved your topic over to the "Need Campground Information" topic area. There's more viewership over there so you should get better results.

Check out Topsail State Park. I believe it is close to where you want to be. A very nice state park.

Navarre Beach Campground

Navarre Beach Campground is not too far from Ft. Walton. They have full hookups, nice facilities, easy access to Highway 98 and a friendly staff.

Navarre Beach Campground is overpriced and you feel like a sardine because you are so close to your neighbor that it seems that you cant put your awning out... Stayed there this past September. Nice staff though.

I do believe Navare Beach State Park is stillclo0sed due to hurricane damage but Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park in Niceville is ok. We have reservations there for this weekend. FloridaStateParks.org has all the latest on the parks plus reserveamerica info.
