Looking for some info on the southern tip of IL. Things to see, campgrounds to base out of, and ones to avoid. Thanks in advance.

Grumpy,
Rig is 35ft. We could stay up to a week if there's enough to do/see in the area. Services aren't really that important. What else is there besides Garden of the Gods?

Giant City State Park.
Tunnel Hill bicycle rail trail.
Bald Knob Cross[/list]
I'm drawing a blank right now. There is a FS type CG at GOTG. Hookups at Giant City (maybe just electric, I recall a shower house)
FS type CG at Glen O Jones Lake.

Crusin,
Might want to try Fern Clyfe state park. Spelling might be wrong on that if you do a search but its different. the park has a nice campground. Electric and water at sights. Went throught there a bout a month ago and saw several big motorhomes and fifth wheels. I would say its about a 30 mile drive from that park to Garden of the Gods. If you go to Garden of the Gods check out the Rimrock area. There also is a campground at Pounds hollow but I'm not sure if there are any hook ups and if you can get your rig in there. Might be worth some investigating though as its close to Rimrock and Garden of the Gods.
