While not a CG specific question, I'm looking for information and opinions regarding something we just heard.

Friends who live in Tenn. are claiming the drought is so pervasive up there that many of the larger hardwood trees are dropping the leaves NOW, and that the traditionally beautiful "leaf peeper" season in the smokies is all but lost for this year.

Your thoughts, please. ED

Ed, some of the trees here in Western NC are dropping some of their leaves due to the drought, not sure what impact it'll have on our fall foliage. I recall a few years back we had a similar hot, dry summer and the leaves weren't nearly as vivid that year as they normally are.

I'm about 4 miles from the NC/TN state line, 80 miles (as the crow flies) from Gatlinburg.
