We also did this back in Sept/Oct. Nice young man was our "rep". Our whole tour was 20 min max so it was worth the 30 free camping days. We told him upfront, in a very nice way, that we researched sale prices, know of members trying to sell their's for as low as $500 on craigslist, and even w/ all the benefits that may come from buying direct, they were not worth $8000. We were very appreciative of any site that only required 20 min of our time so tight turns and 30amp were fine by us. They even let us use part of our free 30 days to make a week of it. Although the 30 days is not normally avail on the weekend, they ok'd it because they had spaces available. I did pay a premium for wifi, ~$4/ day. Make sure you see the CW monument in the resort. They also have a GB auto tour CD/guide you can rent from the camp store ~$10.

Dale mom,

It was the NC campground, when was your trip? My wife is curious to know if she was being sold down the river. I am not sure if it included the travel deals as well.

We were in gettsyburg last week, the 16-18th. The phone call we got was from NC. The phone call we got was probably the 22 or 23. I can't just remember but it was this week.

I just wanted to RV there for a weekend. I had not been there in 28 years. I do not want a sales pitch or any wasted time listening to them. I just want to use them as the base camp and see the town and walk the battlefields again. From their website and talking to them on the phone, all they want to do is sell you the membership. So I will have to find another campground in Gettysburg.
