Yes, there are specific loops for pets. Make sure you tell them when reserving.

From what I can tell even the non pet loops are pet friendly. We've been in 1300 and 1100 in the past six weeks (no pets) and both times there were all kinds of pooches in our neighbors' rigs.

We will be there right after Thanksgiving. We were last there in 2009 and they put us so far away from the dog run (1500 section??), by the time me and the dog walked there, we both had enough exercise. In 2007 we were in the 500 loop but that was before they created the dog run. Are there any premium sites in the 500 loop that I can get a 42' rig into?

We have stayed at the wilderness, nice park but costly, we prefer to stay at tropical palms RV resort which is 10 miles away and has all the same things disney does at half the cost.

Just curious.

Can you make reservations well in advance of arriving and what is the cost of the "premium" spaces? Do they have discounts for seniors or for staying for more that one or two nights?

You can go online and chech pricing and availability. It's under "book a room". Choose Ft Wilderness from the drop down list of all disney resorts. I know there is a Discount for AAA, military and FL residents. I don't recall for seniors.

In addition to the last post, you can make reservations well in advance and if you are planning a trip around peak times of the year, you really need to. For example, we go Ft. Wilderness the week of Thanksgiving and it sells out about 6-9 months in advance.

They will charge you $5 per day if you bring pets (one charge, regardless of the number of pets you travel with).

We use to stay at Tropic Palms but the last stay there wasn't nice. The guy at the gate told us to lock up everything because they where having problems with the drug dealers at the hotel on the right as you head to the campground entrance. I'll pay more just to stay away from something I saw myself and keep my family safe. Just me

We are 42 ft and there are plenty of sites in our loop to accomidate any size rig.

Stayed 1 night at Tropical Palms before coming into the Fort. The "Premium Spaces" were barely wide enough and no way to get onto the parking slab without cutting the grass which was soggy and we made it ugly.

We will be spending a few months at the KOA in Kissimmee after our month here. Not cheap but the spaces are much nicer.

As for the Fort being pricey I think they are quite reasonable if you consider the full value.

You have full access to their busing system, the monorail, or the boats. Do bring your own beer because the shop prices will stun Donald Trump.
