Oh Thanks So Much For Sharing.
Haven't been exploring that part of Cali (Yet) ! So very beautiful. I enjoyed the pictures and the article, mining history is very interesting, and there are so many mines "All Over CA".
My friend posted pics of Poppy’s taken Friday at the Gorman Pass between LA & Bakersfield.

Gold Country (Jackson, CA) RV trip report
Thanks, Bilgerat! :-) we were traveling on 5 south on Mother's Day several years ago and at Gorman the hills exploded with color. Apparently for a couple weeks a year, yellow and purple flowers all bloom at the same time. Our daughter was young then, and we stopped for some awesome Mother's Day photos.
Happy travels and hope you make it to the gold country soon!
Al

We had similar stay at the same park with our club and really enjoyed it. We have not managed to get to Daffodil Hill as yet though.

I think Daffodil Hill has already closed for this year, but there is always next year! :-)
We'd like to visit the same RV Park and explore the Sutter Creek area. Any ideas on what to see is always appreciated!

Al, it looks like we missed you by a couple of weeks. Betty and I did the same trip at the beginning of the month. We must have circled the park a half dozen times on that walking path. Daffodil Hill was crazy busy and we got there early!
Next time check out Indian Grinding Rock, Black Chasm and all the wineries heading out towards Shenandoah Valley! We also hit the Amador Flower farm a little too early in the season as most flowers weren't blooming yet but we did manage to pick up a great variety of day lilies. I hope we run into you guys soon!

Amador Co was our home for 30 yrs and Jackson Rancheria is still our fulltime winter park (Sept - Feb 2014). You need a month to see it all. Kirkwood Ski area is 50 mi and Tahoe is about 70. Hwy 88 is RV friendly and open all year, with occasional temporary closure for snow removal. We call it Gods Country for good reason. But seriously...don't tell anyone else about it. OK?

BJCSF2014 and adamfolger, thanks for the ideas! I really feel blessed to live so close, only about 2 hours away. Your are right, we'll never run out of interesting places to visit. Hope to see you on the road sometime!

Don't forget to visit Murphys for shopping and wine tasting. We used to live there.

I don't know if you have kids but we're heading back again this July to 49'r RV Resort in Plymouth. Jammed at that time, but the grands loved it!

We became empty nesters last year when our daughter graduated, got a good job, and moved to be closer to her job! We miss her, but have adjusted well! :-)
