Welcome and congrats on your purchase. You might want to look at RVParkReview.com for some assistance in finding a park to suit your needs. We use this all the time to assist us in our travels. Best wishes in your retirement.

Congrats on retirement.
We stayed at one place in Ft. Myers so can't speak about others. But Cypress Trails RV Resort should fit the bill. Its a new RV Resort, plenty of room between pads, lap pool, fitness center, paved roads and level concrete pads, manmade lake you can be along side or along tree area. People friendly. New spots under construction and for purchase.
You can rent for any amount of time you desire. They allow 5th wheels which many other decent parks in area do not.
So enjoy and hope to see you next winter. We will be there.

Define cheap........someone posted cypress trail so I had a look.

Winter Rates: December 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016
Daily: $80.00 Lakefront: $90.00
Weekly: $450.00 Lakefront: $525.00
Monthly: $1500.00 Lakefront: $1800.00 Rates

It is Florida in winter. I am almost sure something, cheap, nice, good wifi and roomy can be found north of say kentucky in winter?

Not Recommended

I would not recommend Fort Myers Campground. This is the one on 41 just south of the bridge. We were there in the spring and there were many electrical problems. Upon arrival the receptionists were having a smoke outside the office and we got the distinct impression that we were interrupting their break. They were unpleasant. Another tenant bragged that this was the cheapest campground in town and it shows.

Go 40 or so mile east of ft Myers toward the center of the state.

Maybe $500 per month and lots less traffic.
