Our granddaughter will be competing in the National Taekwondo Championships held July 5t in Richmond VA. We plan on towing our 27ft travel trailer from Washington State to Virginia.

We are looking for a Great full hookup, dog friendly Rv Park to stay. Any recommendations? .

Where in Richmond is the competition and how close do you want to be to it?

It would be held downtown Richmond convention center. 8 to 10 miles would be ideal

Well then, that's good advice to stay at Americamps in Ashland. And if you have the time check out Williamsburg, Va., the old colonial town. Then you might want to go on down to Yorktown. A lot of history throughout the area.

We live in Richmond (Glen Allen) and there are not many options. Your best bet is Americamps in Ashland. Nice park, friendly operators, nice fenced dog exercise area. Right off I-95 so you can be in downtown Richmond in 15 -20 minutes. There is another option on US 1 also in Ashland called Kosmo Village. Kosmo is basically a gravel lot with full hook up pull thru sites but there are no facilities (no showers, no grass, no dog run).

As noted there are plenty of options in Williamsburg but that would put you pretty far from downtown Richmond, especially if you are going there every day for a few days.

Since Americamps is the only good RV park in the Richmond metro area and fills up during special events, I would make reservations now.

Good Rv Park Near Richmond Va

Too bad that you need full hook ups because Pocahontas State Park is just outside Richmond. Has water/electric, bathhouses, and a dump station. It is one of our favorite state parks. Oh, they also have a nice pool/small water park.
