Graceland

Dh and I are planning a Summer road trip - taking the roundabout way to Orlando stopping in Graceland. I found an RV park just across the street from Graceland, but I have read that the area is dicey at best. I liked the idea of being right across the street, since DH and I may not tow a vehicle. We're only planning on staying 1-2 nights. Has anyone been there recently?

We live up here in the mid south and the RV park next to Graceland is not in the best part of town, but safe as far as one can be safe.
There are a few others a few miles south that you may also want to look at on being EZ days in Southaven. Short cab ride away.

We were just at Graceland a few weeks ago. Stayed at EZ Daze over in Southaven,MS.
Nothing fancy just a clean RV resort. It was less than 10 minutes to Graceland I think.
Also next door to large RV dealer so we spent some time window shopping.

We stayed at Tom Sawyer RV Park while we visited Memphis and Graceland last fall. As others said, the neighborhood around Graceland is not the greatest and I would think it would be pretty noisy there. I would stay at Tom Sawyer RV Park again. The park is right on the river and pretty quiet. There was flooding in that area last fall but I'd be surprised if the park was still closed because of that. It is a bit of a drive to Graceland but we only went there once so it was not inconvenient. If you don't have a toad, Tom Sawyer probably would not be an option.

Cool

We stayed at the Graceland campground last summer. While the area outside the gates might not be the best, we had absolutely no issues inside the park. It is very convenient to Graceland attractions and the Heartbreak Hotel runs a shuttle to downtown Memphis. Depending upon the size of your coach, you may need to keep a watch on tree branches. Some sites are next to big trees with overhanging branches. However, large coaches are not a problem.

Enjoy your time at Graceland...it's well worth the stop

Graceland

We stayed at Graceland RV for 5 nights this past September. It was great, and neither we, nor anyone else there had any problems. The staff was very helpful, will stay there again without any hesitation.

We stayed at Graceland RV with no problems. If I remember correctly, there is a guard gate to enter. We didn't feel unsafe.

We stayed at Graceland about a year ago and really liked that it was only a short walk across the parking lot to the Gracelend complex for tours, shopping, etc.

The same can be said for Beale Street. Significant police presence and very safe.

When you go to Graceland, I suggest you 'buy up' and get the VIP tickets. You get entrance to all the venues including the planes and don't have to wait in line with some emphatic, but many times annoying, Elvis fans (the ones that thing he's still alive...). About $50 more but well worth it - especially on a crowded day.

Hi Hammer bird,
This is another vote for Tom Sawyer. Tom Sawyer's RV Park Just a few miles from Graceland. Much better environment. Watch the tugs go up and down the river. One is right at the Mississippi River.
