If it's the KOA just down the street from Graceland itself we stayed there a few years ago and it was a nice place to stay. Although, being a KOA it was a tad on the expensive side.

A more fun place to stay in Memphis is Tom Sawyer's which is right on the river.

We stayed there in 2004. I wrote in my log "very nice park, next to Heartbreak Hotel and across the street from Graceland". Cost was $100.14 for 3 nights, including tax.

Ditto for Tom Sawyers. There is a shuttle that will pick you up if your taking the Graveland tour. You ARE right on the river!ie folks.

Drove through Graceland park but did not stay. Looks like it has been cleaned up a bit and some nice landscaping. Right beside the main parking lot.

We stayed there back in 2004 when I took my wife and her Elvis-infatuated friend to Graceland.

Very convenient to Graceland but basically a parking lot with hookups. You'll need a toad or taxi to get to anything within downtown Memphis (Sun Studios, Beale St., Peabody, etc.).

A couple of recommendations:
- go to Rendezvous Ribs in Memphis. BEST dry rub ribs I ever had. On a back alley near the Peabody. Any cabbie will know where it is. Only open for dinner.

- Avoid lines at Graceland by signing up for the VIP tour. More expensive, but you get to go to the front of the line and you see some areas of Graceland that other tours don't see.

Have fun!

Stayed at Graceland RV Park a couple years ago - nice park, lousy area. Very convenient if you are visiting the Elvis complex, but not much else of interest in the immediate area. Very clean and well maintained campground when we visited.

Hi Sonny & Pam,
I have not stayed at Graceland RV Park. I've driven through it a couple of times. While convenient to Graceland, the parking lot CG layout is not something I like. When in the area, I stay at Tim Sawyer's in West Memphis (across the river in Arkansas. It is about 10 miles from Graceland. Go to Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River RV Park and read about the CG. It is right on the Mississippi River. I do mean right on the river. Nice and quiet. Nearby is a Flying J.

It looks like Tom Sawyers will be closed due to high water next week...sure might want to call.
We stayed overnight at Graceland RV Park on the way to Orlando this March and found it to be clean with roomy sites and good hook-ups and facilities. We didn't take the tour, but Graceland was right out the back gate. If the car show is really close, I would not hesitate to stay there at least a couple of nights.

What kind of car do you have?

The Graceland rv park is great for seeing Graceland right across the street. The area outside the park is bad. Not a place you would not want to hang around. Stay at Graceland RV park see Graceland then move elseware.

Definitely call for conditions at Tom Sawyer's. We stayed there two years ago and enjoyed the Might Miss. The Army Corps Of Engineers keep a close watch on the river and will give plenty of notice if it is going to flood. Some of the campsites at Tom Sawyer are 30 yards or less from the river.
