Grand Canyon

If anyone is planning on a trip to the Grand Canyon this year "heads up". If you are going to camp in the CG inside the park, DO NOT leave your sewer hose out! The ravens for some reason like to come by and poke holes in them. What a surprise when you go to dump your tanks! Fortunately I was dumping the grey water but my neighbor was doing the black tank. This happened to several of us so it wasn't vandalizism as first thought. There is a sign at the check in station also discussing the sewer hose problem. They do sell "new sewer hoses" at the main store inside the park just in case you forget.

Thanks for the info. We are planning on being at the village in June. Guess I should pack a scare crow to put out.

It seems this may be a South Rim phenomenon. When I first arrived at the North Rim the raven/sewer hose issue was mentioned but the rangers said the North Rim ravens are better behaved - so far. They are certainly well versed with zippers and velcro though.
