Last year I stayed in Williams at the www.railsiderv.com
My first morning there I was awaken by the Sound of the Steam Train leaving for the Grand Canyon.
Nice place and it has good rates as well.

The Williams Grand Canyon area is beautiful, we have property 30 miles north Williams off of highway 64. The Grand Canyon Railway has an RV park there are two others in town. If you prefer KOA there is one east of Williams on the 40, and one north of Williams off the 64. Just be aware the area is in an extreme drought. Williams relies for the most part on snow run off and rain to fill there reservoirs. This year they received just a fraction of both that they normally do. To make matters worse the May 28th issue of the local paper had a story about one of their two wells had failed because it collapsed. In the article city staff said they only have 19 months of water supply left. If the remaining well fails they will only have 6 months of water left. Hopefully they have a very heavy monsoon season. However, it normally doesn't start for a few more weeks. Not trying to discourage you from going there just so you'll be aware of their problem. They really need the tourist to come. You can read the article here http://www.williamsnews.com/main.asp...79&TM=83931.56

We just returned from Williams Circle of Pines KOA, it was great. We have been there a few times before, and the staff are wonderful, and the park is improving all the time. Nice level earth sites. Lots of trees. Multiple dump ports at every site makes hook up clean and easy. Indoor pool, two playgrounds. It is about 60 miles/1 hr from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Definitely my choice.

We would highly recommend you stay right in the park at Trailer Village. You'd be close to the rim and would have the free shuttle to use all day long to save parking hassles. Williams is an hour+ away and it's a straight flat boring drive. Then you'd have a long wait at the entrance to get in, then parking issues.

I stayed at the Grand Canyon Trailer Village last year. Right at the park on the South Rim. Shuttle bus to the rim runs all day, full hookups, a store within walking distance, lots of wildlife that walk through the park. I would stay there again in a heart beat.
