Grand Canyon - dog friendly?

Most NP's we've been to were very restrictive when it came to dogs. Are there any hiking opportunities for the dogs?

There are trails on the North Rim that I doubt you will have any issue with taking dogs on. Here is a good source. https://aztrail.org/explore/passages...yon-north-rim/

We were at the S. Rim VC last week and it was very busy there to be walking a dog.

…. and yet another 'clicky' in case the above ones don't work:

Grand Canyon has probably the best walking for pets from all national parks. Enjoy!

Great info. Also keep in mind, that Arizona is very aggressive towards leaving dogs in cars. Don't do it.

Greens and others similar love wolves but not dogs

We had to leave the puppy in the mh or road when walking in most places

Just came back from the Grand Canyon. Saw more dogs there than ever -- all over the South Rim. Bear in mind that they can't ride the shuttle buses, so you're limited to places you can drive to (i.e. nothing west of the Village).

We leave ours in the coach -- shades drawn and A/C running. They think they're in a cave, and take a nap.

Dogs are allowed on the Rim Trail and most anywhere 'above' the canyon. They're not allowed below the Rim.

We will be going to the South Rim for hookups. If we can get a spot.

We took 2 small dogs with us when we visited. No problem walking them with you. As stated previously, you cant take the shuttle, and if you want to follow the entire section of the rim at the south rim, it is a long walk. If you don't want to walk it, you will miss part of the most amazing scenery.
