I was only able to get the last three nights, but that should be enough. This is the only reservation I have made so far. I am hoping to get some input on the other stops.

That is correct - this is why I work on it only a few hours a day.

El Paso & Ft. Stockton.

I am finalizing my stops before starting to make my selection on my 24 stops back and forth to home.

El Paso is one spot I can pick a definite spot for an overnight stay. I would like a pull-thru spot.

At Ft. Stockton I am thinking of either Hilltop or Ft. Stockton RV parks.

Any suggestions?

In Albuquerque we stayed here: American RV Park

If time permits, recommend the Sandia Peak Tramway: Sandia Peak Ski & Tramway - Winter Sports Awesome views of the Rio Grande Valley

Does the Fairgrounds have full hookups?

Las Cruces would be a better stopping point for one night instead of El Paso. There are more RV parks available and traffic is not as hectic. Try to time your El Paso drive between 9 and 2 for less traffic.

Honestly, after you leave the Balloon Fiesta you will not have to make reservations on your return home. It will be mid-October and that's not a busy time for the parks. I would suggest just taking it easy with no reservations and it'll be easier on you and more enjoyable.

I had planned on heading East from Albuquerque toward Amarillo, Oklahoma, etc., but I may head South instead. This would enable us to see Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell, plus the trip originally was a lot of driving on I-40.

Hilltop has been good for a stopover in Ft Stockton. Going to do it again in April on the way to AZ. I've never had any luck in El Paso. I would take the loop around and push to Las Cruces as mentioned. There is one big hill on the loop but it beats driving through El Paso.
