Thanks. This has been a coincidence as we were just checking out Grapevine earlier today as we will be heading West in May and planned on spending a few days here. Love this Forum.

There is some noise from the jets going over but you get used to it quickly. This is a nice campground and there are lots of things to do nearby. Within about 5 miles there is Grapevine Mills outlet mall, Bass Pro Shop and downtown Grapevine is quaint and fun to walk through. There is a train that departs from downtown Grapevine that goes to the Stockyards in Ft Worth and then returns you to Grapevine. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas the train becomes the Polar Express which is neat if you have young kids or grand kids. If you want to get a good idea of the layout of the park, view it on Google satellite images and you can tell which spots are shady and which are at the edge of the lake. I think it would get really warm in the summer months to be in the spaces by the lake. These were considered premium lots but we liked the older section with trees the best. It's a great campground and the camp hosts are super nice and friendly. Hope you enjoy your stay!

I have stayed there once. If the wind blows from the north, it's loud because the planes take off overhead. If the wind blows from the south, it's quieter because the planes are on landing approach from overhead.

We've stayed at The Vineyards twice. Once back in August and again in October. It's a very nice campground that was formerly operated by the COE and is now operated by the City of Grapevine. Like some have stated it's a little bit pricey but the TACO (Texas Association of Campground Owners) discount helps with that. I didn't notice any appreciable noise from the airport while we were there. I believe that all sites are concrete pads. One night a week (either Friday or Saturday) they shoot fireworks off over the lake and the show is easily viewed from the campground.
