Actually, I drove it once from rt.27 to I95 and it was smooth sailing. Of course it was 4:00 AM.!!

You may want to look at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in Crystal River. It is only about 75 minute drive from Tampa. Great campground on Nature Coast that is out of the madness of the cities.
