Stumbled on this campground while returning to PA on our 'shake down' cruise with our 2014 Winnebago Vista 35B.
While on I-40 in TN we were deciding on where to spend the night. Campground or Truck Stop. My Bride said we just passed a sign for a campground at the next exit. Let's go for it, I say.
It's located off exit 412 of I-40. It's about 3.8 miles from the Interstate.
What a beautiful campground.
Anchor Down RV Resort is top shelf. It sits on the shore of Douglas Lake, TN, and the owner did this campground RIGHT. It has 175 sites (all concrete pads), landscaping is beautiful. The CG is 6 months old, and when I met and talked to the owner he told me he is a Contractor who bought the ground to build high end homes, and then the market crashed. Since he always wanted a CG, he built one. BTW, he also cuts and splits the firewood, delivers it to your site, mows the lawn, etc, etc, etc. Real down to earth guy.
Many sites have custom fireplaces on them, each one different.
And, the rates aren't outrageous.
