Now there is a big area. What would you want in a site to make it best? Are you looking for a beautiful state park like Topsail? Or something right on the beach like Camping on the Gulf? If you will tell us what kind of place you seek and what area (FL and AL coasts is a huge area) maybe we could help. One way to research is to use RV Park Reviews :: Home. Good luck.

We usually try for a State or Federal park, a lot of the private CG's will break the bank pretty quick. So Henderson Beach SP in Destin is a good bet and Ft Pickens CG which is part of GINS, Gulf Islands National Seashore, it is near Pensacola so you may see the Blue Angels at times. Paying $10 with Golden Age at Ft. Pickens vs the $80 or more some of the private places want is a no brainer for us. FL also gives a senior discount but only to FL residents.

I'm from Crystal River, which is about 90 miles north of Tampa. When I'm home, I stay at Rock Crusher RV Park. I've been very happy there, nice wooded sites, full hook-ups with cable and WiFi. Can be a bit pricey though, depending on the season.

Glad to hear that about Ft. Pickens, I'll be in site E004 for a couple of nights starting the 29th of April.

x3 ft pickens!

Yes, Ft. Pickens is great.....loop a is the best, more room & close to beach walk over. Also, new rv park going in right in the thick of things at pensacola beach - not even named yet - under construction where a hotel had been knocked down from a hurricane. It will be on the bay side, but prime viewing for the blue angels show in July!! Jim Reeves, attorney in pcola is the developer - I googled him & called his office to get on a waiting list! I wanted them to know word was out & people are very interested! The park will have about 70 spaces & a pool. First of its kind....born and raised there & never a rv park on the island other than the state park.

State parks around Destin are fantastic places to stay. With that in mind From Spring Break to the end of the summer tourist season, you must be sure to call WAAAAY ahead to reserve your spot. Henderson Beach State park is about 3 months booked up. They are very easy on the pocket book, but be for-warned, they are busy.
