Gulf Coast Camping

We anticipate taking delivery of our new coach, Entegra Aspire 44B, in early January and make our way to the Gulf Coast for the winter. Once concern we have is that we may already be well behind the curve to find a place.

Any suggestions/recommendations or point us to past/existing threads on Gulf Coast Camping would be greatly appreciated, or if . We are not limited to the FL coast; Alabama and/or Mississippi would be fine as well. Our preference would be state parks, but they a. may not be available, b.may not accommodate a 44 foot coach, c. restrict the length of stay, or all of the above.

As always, thanks for your help.

Regards,
OWV, Our Wandering View
Entegra Aspire 44B, on order

Just for a moment it seemed like you might be referring to Gulf Coast Resort.

Numerous quality motorhome resorts around coastal southern Alabama. Google Bella Terra, Osprey, Anchors Aweigh just for starters. In Florida try Topsail SP.

TopSail State Preserve is a great park and beach, with a number of miles of nature walks as well. We've been there with our Anthem (spots 103-107 get you satellite). Pull through are there, but you won't get satellite. A little expensive..around $40, but worth it (two week maximum stay I think.

Destin West RV Resort was very nice and across the road from a very nice beach.

OTOH, you may want to get into at least Central FL (we're in Williston Crossings RV resort) to avoid some cold. It can be pretty raw in Dec, Jan, and Feb on the Gulf Coast beaches, although we got lucky with weather this last Winter. Reserve soon, as the best places fill up quickly.

Grayton Beach State Park, just east of Destin. Remodeled loop sites 37+ have 50 amp, sewer and water on fresh graded sites.

Smile Gulf Coast Camping

Highly recommend Bella Terra Rv Resort in Foley Al. Class A only but the nicest people at the resort. Large lots and beautiful facilities. The staff there are the nicest and helpful we have ever had in an rv park. No disappointments here.

Heritage RV park in Orange Beach AL is a top notch park. It's an ownership park but they still have lot's available and several owners who rent out their lots. Only 75 spots and it's right on the inland waterway( it even has a private boat dock)

I would highly recommend The Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Heritage RV park on Canal Road in Orange Beach is also very nice.
There is also a nice park on the Beach Highway (across the street).
Come down here and I will take you fishing! I live here!

I second this recommendation. I just spent a week there and it was a great place. Short walk to the beach and less than a half mile from the entrance to St. Andrews State Park. My parents will be spending the winter there.

The park is well maintained and is on the "quiet" side of Panama City Beach. There are a hand full of restaurants a short walk away.

Fort Pickens Campground is situated on Santa Rosa Island, a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore south of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Florida. Visitors enjoy the seashore for its great recreational activities, historic sites and unique white sand beaches. Just checked and spots still open. I go over from Mobile to get away whenever I can.
