Leaving tomorrow AM for the Gulf Shores, Alabama area. I was considering the FL panhandle area but decided to go somewhere I haven't gone before. Anybody have some good recommendations of places to stay at? I'm towing a car and motorcycle so I'll have some transportation once I get there. Thanks!!!

There is a state park right in Gulf Shores. Very nice with great access to everything.

The premire spot is Bella Terra in Foley Luxury RV Resort in Gulf Shores Alabama | Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Emerald Coast | Bella Terra RV Resort. Check ahead for availability wherever you decide to stay. Snowbird season is underway. Try a meal at the Original Oyster House on 59 in Gulf Shores (about 4 blocks north of the beach), The Gift Horse Restaurant in Foley (downtown, a block west of 59 on 98) and Lambert's Cafe on 59 in the southend of Foley.

We are in Foley now. Staying at Anchors Aweigh. Great amenities all concrete sites and patios w/full hook-ups, and wide roads. The park is right in the middle of shopping areas (WalMart and Tanger Outlets) and eateries. Lamberts is less than a mile away. We drove thru Gulf State Park yesterday. It is very nice, all full hookups near beach areas. You couldn't go wrong either way.

Jeff, how full is Anchors Aweigh at this point? They are my 2nd choice in the area for all of the reasons you mentioned. DW prefers the lakes and fountains as well as the gated access at Bella Terra. Facilities at Anchors Aweigh are first rate and the price is less than at BT.

Jim, the park is about half full as of this evening-mostly back-ins available and maybe a couple pull thrus. We didn't consider or even drive thru Bella Terra as we have a fifth wheel. We drove through all other parks in the area today and we DID make the best choice.

Jeff, you made a great choice. If you wander over on the Florida side give me a PM and I'll buy the coffee.

Thanks for all of the input here!! We ended up staying at Belle Terra. $300.00 for the week. My wife loved it! Only about a 10 minute drive to the beach. We were able to back into a pull through and stay hooked up to my 32' trailer. Very convenient for me to put the motorcycle back inside every night. The people there were extremely friendly. Met a couple there and went for dinner with them. They owned a lot there. The help was overly friendly and helpful in every way. Very clean, extremely well planned out (except for the sprinkler system), nice clubhouse and pool and convenient to everything. We'd stay again!!!!! Nice to be back home but wish I was still there!!
