Gulf State Park

DH and I are headed to Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, AL on Saturday August 18. If any one else headed that way and would like to share a cup of coffee or a Diet Coke send me a PM and we'll try to meet you.

Wish we could. We love the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Area. So much so that we own 2 building lots in OB. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get down there in the last couple of years. You will greatly enjoy the park and surrounding area and all the fresh seafood. Let us know what you think afterwards.

Oh yea, The "Original Oyster House" is a must. Save room for the mile high Peanut Butter Pie!

My daughter and I stayed at Gulf Breeze. Big long pull throughs. Right off the main drag, but not noisy--convenient to everything. Have dinner at Lambert's one night.

We took the ferry over to Dauphin Island and let my lab enjoy the beach and the waves were rough the day we went, but he had a blast.

Another day, we took a ride to Pensacola. I liked the state park, but my daughter wanted internet, etc.

I can't imagine that I didn't take pictures of the state park, but I can't find them on my blog of on my computer. The beach is beautiful, but dogs are not allowed on it so I only drove through. It's a very big park. The park site might give you a better idea: Alabama State Parks

The ride to Pensacola was pleasant, as well.

Edit: Well, that was presumptious of me, Habitat Guy! I assumed you were asking me since my post followed yours. You know what that makes me! I apologize; you were probably asking the OP.

We have been here (GSSP) for 12 days and have 2 more left. We was to leave last Saturday and move over to Ft. Pickens. But due to the flooding issues on the access road we decided to stay here. We are glad we did for Ft. Pickens may have flooded again today.

We love this place, but it is a little expensive. Ft. Pickens would have been half the cost of GSSP, but GSSP is extremely nice and has full hookups.
