We stayed at our first HH location a couple of nights ago. It was uneventful The owners were nice enough although we had to talk to several employees before we found one who knew about the program.

One of the reasons I delayed was that we don't drink wine. We buy a lot of wine for gifts though, so I figured this would be good enough. We'll definitely be using HH again (especially since I ponied up for the lifetime membership!).

In Meridian TX at Red Caboose winery. Awesome wine. Told me feel free to park where the 30 & 50 amp power. Cool night so no need. Texas has come a long way in wine. We may stay tomorrow too. So quite, just crickets, birds. Excellent Tempranillo and other reds.

Dang! I may have to adjust our proposed route to visit more HH sites. OR...maybe plan a trip just for HH!

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I just sent them an email to confirm this very issue about our 42' coach (even though it's right there in their FAQ). I was concerned there wouldn't be enough hosts to handle a bigger rig to make it worth our while. Their response:

"Thanks very much for your interest in Harvest Hosts. 80% of our Hosts can accommodate your vehicle. If you take a look at the photos our members have sent us Members' Photo page you will see a large number of big vehicles."

There are quite a few hosts here in the southwest and California where we'll be doing the majority of our traveling, so I think joining for I think $44 annually is worth the risk.

Harvest Hosts

Wryly, if you join let usKnow how it works outdoor you. I've been holding off until just before we take possession of our new coach. That will be on August 10th. I hope to be able to make good, use of it on the way back home to SoCal.

I absolutely will let everyone know. So far, I've heard nothing but good things from people here and over on RViillage. We're definitely joining.

Good luck on your new coach in August!

Awesome program, we have not been disappointed. Check satellite maps and call the day before.

Are these boondocking only, or do some have full or partial hookups?
