Headed to Henderson Beach SP Destin Fl for Thanksgiving

Hey folks stopping at Marianna Caverns on the way down for a night. Looking for recommendations on good seafood markets first and anything food related.....we love to travel and cook together. Thanksgiving will be Smoked Prime Rib for sure. Txs

Cool Destin, FL

Coffeeman,
Destin is a Great place to Stay and Eat at... I lived in Destin for 20+ years. When we moved there in 1979 it was hard to find a place to get a cup of coffee in the evening. I worked in Law Enforcement for Okaloosa County, so you know I stopped at many eateries in eighteen years.
Our family loved Fudpuckers, McGuires Irish Pub & The Donut Hole for eats.
Destin has a number of RV parks and Military FanCamps.
Give a call if you have more questions and don't forget your sunglasses.

Bought our shrimp and lobsters at Sexton's. Very clean, clean, clean shop and everything super fresh. Its located 1 and half miles from the park. BTW the park is gorgeous, we'll return next year for sure.

Coffeeman. Hope you enjoyed your stay. At least the cold, rainy weather held off until Tuesday. Hope everyone returned home safely from Thanksgiving trips.

We departed a day early as our 13 year old dog had bad diarrhea...could have been the Prime Rib bone! Which is her special treat at Christmas. We may check out Top Sail next year, don't know which one is any nicer that the other.

Henderson Beach vs. Top Sail

Both are nice, Henderson Beach is less expensive. Staryed at Henderson for 10 days in Jan 12, real nice beach hikes. Private camp sites, but no sewer hookups at the sites.
Drove through Topsail. If I remember correctly they have sewer hookups. I believe that I saw a pool there? (correct me if I'm wrong) Anyways we went further down the pan handle and stayed at 2 other state parks on the gulf for another 3 weeks.
Currently ending a 30 day stay at Stone Mountain State Park in GA. Went to the top of the Granite Rock today followed up with a roaring campfire and boiled peanuts.

Topsail has several lakes to fish in, pool, air for your toys on road side, tram to the beach, and cable TV, over 100 channels. Also sewer and water and cement pads at all sites. Great place, and this is why it cost a little more than Henderson.
