Heading East

We live in northern Michigan and are thinking of heading east thought the White and Green Mountains to Maine. Then head north in Maine up to New Brunswick. Then maybe up to Prince Edward Island. My question is, this time of year are we going to need reservations or will we be ok calling ahead during the day. We are traveling in 40' motorhome, pulling a Jeep.

Thanks for your help. Open to any suggestions

Uhmm.. might be ok to call ahead.. it's still early..

We hit that area about a month from now a year or two back, and it was mostly vacant....

If you have a chance, stop by in Bar Harbor, worth the detour.

I bet once school starts again, it will die down rapidly...but before then.. tough to tell without calling ahead.

I'd say call a few stops now, and inquire about the current load and how they work over the coming weeks.

Most campgrounds close by October 15. The State campgrounds may close even earlier. Reservations should not be needed in most places after Labor Day as most kids are in school then. Up State NY, is also very nice this time of year.

I live in New England and I think you will be fine just calling ahead during the day and perhaps call a day earlier on the weekend. If you do state parks, Vermont has some beauties. Vermont also has a very nice COE park in South Londonderry and half price if you have the senior pass. Keep in mind foliage season beginning of October. As stated, most places do close around the middle of October.
