We are planning on going up to western Canada for a couple of months this summer. Plan on moving slowly, staying 3-5 days a nice parks or or camp grounds that can accomodate 40' rigs with slides.
Looking for suggustions about great parks.

We are sprint pcs cell phone users. Looking for advice about any changes to service to hold down roaming charges or maybe sprint serice up north is so limited that we may need a different service?

Hello Party Barge, try this link for starters

Contact Sprint for International roaming charges. We found out the hard way with Bell. Apparently they have a plan aswell, we found out tooooo late. If I can help out further, let me know...Brad

Verizon has a North American plan.

What did Sprint tell you when you spoke to them????

Call your cell phone service provider. Verizon will provide temporary service while we travel in Canada for the dates we give them, plus a one-time fee of $10 to turn on the service. I'm sure all the major cell phone service providers have similiar plans.

You aren't going to have enough service to worry about if you go very far north (more than about halfwa up any of the provinces), but if you stay in the southern portions (and you probably will if you are expecting nice RV parks) them you should get a "Canada" or "North America" add-on plan. They aren't expensive.

Don't expect Sprint PCS service, but you should have some digital roaming.

Thanks, Gary
I called Sprint PCS and was told they don't have any coverage maps for Canada and don't know if we would get any service. Can "add-on" Int'l service for $4.00 per month plus 9 cents a minute. They need 2-3 days advance notice to add it on. I think my digital roaming is only for the U.S.
