Help! Estes Park, CO RV park?

We're planning a trip to Estes Park in early July. Can anyone pass along a good RV park in the area. I read that some RV parks in the area were not level enough for a HM.

Thanks for the suggestions

When we cannot get a site in Rocky Mountain NP (our favorite CG is Moraine CG) then we stay at any of the ones available in Estes Park. Our last few times there, we stayed at Spruce Lake CG. Not a very big park, but lots for the kids to do. We have stayed at the KOA, but that was about 7 years ago.

You cannot beat Estes Park in the summer!

Thanks to all

We made a reservation at Elk Meadow for the 4th of July weekend. Really looking forward to our stay. Then off to Tetons & Yellowstone NPs.

I think you did the right thing. Elk Meadow may not be the best park,
but it's sure close in to the Park. The CGs east on 34 along the Big Thompson River, although a beautiful drive, can get quite congested...especially coming through Estes Park.

The view at ELk Meadow ain't bad either, at times elk will wonder through the CG...also watch out for the holes the prairie dogs(I'm guessing)dig in and around the campsites.

There's a one way dirt road(11 - 13 mi. in length) that goes up to the Alpine Visitor's Center(almost 12K ft. in elev.) that's a 'must do' early in the morning toad drive. We saw a lot of deer and elk on that one...'Old Fall River Road', IIRC. Although dirt, it was quite passable by any passenger car at the time...can check at the park office for current road conditions...it really is a beautiful drive.

Thanks for the info, that kind of drive is one thing we really enjoy.

Now looking at Yellowstone, then on to Glacier NP, hope we find CGs.

We are ex-residents of Estes Park, and even though we don't live there anymore we still consider it our "home". Summer time in Estes Park is amazing, however the traffic is horrible. If possible I would plan for an early morning or early evening arrival if you could. You'll be happy that you did. Old Fall River Road is an AMAZING drive, especially up at the higher altitudes, but you may want to check on the status of it. There was a lot of damage from the floods a year and a half ago. Like some of the other posters mentioned, expect to see elk and deer almost daily. Also be aware of your trash and food. The black bears have a tendency to be attracted to it...hahaha. But most of all, be sure to take in the beauty of Mother Nature. It doesn't get any better than Colorado and the Rockies!
