Call the hospital and ask. Talk to a supervisor in Security and Maintenance. Odds are that they will know the layout of the property and adjacent properties and have a place in mind or alternatives.

Google McCormick Place RV parking.....it is right in that area, no hookups. We have reservations later this month.....35 dollars a night.

I would park at the hospital way off to the side of parking lot.
Google maps the hospital and then zoom in on the facility and you will have a visual.
God bless and Angles to your granddaughter

She will be at an excellent rehab facility. They can do wonders. Keep positive thoughts!

I know this isn't close but there really isn't anything in the city except McCormick Place which can get expensive if staying long-term.

If you want a more pleasant place look into Sycamore RV Resort, Sycamore, IL, 375 E. North; 815-895-5590.

It's 67 mi. away but if you plan to spend many hours at the rehab, once a day travel might not be too bad. It would also give you a place to wind down.

There are a few KOA Kampgrounds in the area, not close but a place to park.

https://koa.com/campgrounds/chicago/ is about 56 miles away.

My heart goes out to your family and prayers and positive thoughts to your granddaughter.

Prayers for you. That rehab facility is in Streeterville. That's a very dense, very crowded area right in the middle of downtown. I wouldn't recommend driving your RV into that area. Flat lot parking will be minimal. Most parking will be low, tight parking garages.

My suggestion would be to use Google Maps and try to find a campground very near either the Metra trains or the Amtrak trains (the commuter routes, not the cross country routes). Illinois Beach State Park would be an option. The Casino at Joliet might be an option.

Get an Uber account if you don't have one and use that to get from the campground to the train station.

Does making a reservation online through truticket guarantee you a spot? Everything I have read says that you should call ahead to see if there is an event but if you have purchased a spot ahead a time why is there a need to call ahead. Do they overbook it?
