Help rookie find a place AZ-CA along HWY 10-8

I know it's getting late for this but we're pulling it together as quickly as possible. We need a place(s) to bring our 31' Winnie+ Jeep toad from about Dec 15- Jan 12 or possibly staying longer. We're driving from WI so we'll have to be keeping an eye on weather while heading south etc. We will be driving the toad from wherever we camp the RV to San Diego for about a week around Christmas to be with family.
We're flexible as far as pretty much anywhere off Hwy 10 then 8 from the Tucson area to beyond Yuma, even to El Centro or so.
Our priorities:
- Pet friendly for two small terriers
- Clean, as quiet as possible
- Friendly folks in general
- Don't golf but do hike a lot, run, ride road bikes a fair distance
- A large pool would be nice, but not a must
- Would be great if there was a YMCA within say 20 min or so
ANY help is greatly appreciated!

California RV Park Travel Trailer Campground Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort This place is just west of El Centro. Stayed there a couple times and found it relaxing. It's convenient to take a day trip to Algadones, Mexico. There is a huge parking lot against the border fence and you just walk across. Another few more miles and you are in Yuma. I think it's about 90 minutes to San Diego.

Thanks for the tips on the place near El Centro and the Cal Am resorts, will be checking them out.

Glad to hear Santee Lakes is recommended as we have a two month reservation there starting Feb 8. We actually made the reservation last summer when we were visiting. Then, we got serious about our hunt for a MH and purchased that in August and just bought the toad about a week ago. We're thinking of spending some time camping in Dec- Jan on the way to Santee, but may just wait to leave until closer to that date. We've got a lot to figure out as rookies, but we're planning on having fun no matter what!

Really,
Cool our 2 spoiled kids (4 legged) with be with us also. Are you planning on going south on 35W?
I can't hardly wait to get out of here.
If everything go's good I plan on stopping in Yuma too get the Motorhome waxed and buffed out before going up too Quartzite we don't have too be up there until the 5th so we will have plenty of time.. There is a couple that are on this site that are staying there and he has a company that he has used and say's they do great work. They come to you which is a big plus for me meaning we can stay in the MH
We'll see if they are as good as I am.

Tim

Yep, planning on 35 down to Oklahoma City, after that not really sure, depends on the weather I guess. Where are you planning on staying in Yuma? We're still checking everything out. SO much to figure out . . .

Never been to any RV resort so far, just bought in August and did a handful of three day stays in WI state parks. Where's Hinckley?

Morning,
Hinckley is like 1/2 way between Mpls and Duluth.(about 80 miles) Nice CG Cheap and casino with good buffet.
My plans are about the same. Depending on weather.
I am not sure if I'm going to be more excided about the ride with the new rubber or the trip itself...
Will you have a toad behind you?
I decided to take ours plus the Bicycle's.
If I don't get out of here soon I might have to take the S&B with :
Tim

Might have to check Hinckley out next summer. We're thinking of doing a loop around the Great Lakes.
We just bought a 08 Wrangler a couple of weeks ago and I'm in the process of rigging everything up to tow it. Hope to get that all done this week as the garage is getting colder by the day. We'll have three bikes with us for sure. . . one of the things I plan to do out west is some serious riding. Hope we see you on the way, enjoy that new rubber!
