Hi freen03,
Consider inserting Craters of the Moon National Monument, Idaho. Don't know why you are visiting Polson. If Glacier NP is what you want to see it is a bit of a drive from there. The KOA in St. Mary is where we stay. It is on the East Side of Glacier. It is convenient to all east side trail heads.

I agree with GaryKD,

Craters of the Moon (the road and campground was recently renovated I understand) is a place worthy of 2 days. It is very unique and wonderful to experience at sunrise and sunset. Since you asked, Unless you are visiting family in the Las Vegas area, 5 days is a bit much. If we must go through LV, it is just an overnight experience at best. If you stay 2 days, then yes go visit Hoover Dam. Other than that, 2 days would be the max (for us). Likewise 5 days might be a bit much in Polson, unless of course it is for visiting family.

Again, since you asked, we would devote more days to Yellowstone NP(even 60 days wouldn't be enough time there for us), Grand Teton NP, and Hill City, SD (take the wildlife loop road in Custer State Park). Between Hilltop and YNP, a day or so in Badlands is worth the stop (once again experience this park at both first and last light of the day).

It is of course all in what you wish to see and do. With so many Casinos throughout the USA, if you've been in one, you've been in all of them.

I hope you have a wonderful time wherever you travel.

Everyone has different interests, for sure. Personally, I think your plan is good. However, I hope you're including Grand Teton Nat'l Park in your Yellowstone stay. It's right next door and is completely different in looks and things to do.

Unless your route would take you by Crater of the Moon, I wouldn't go out of your way to do so. It's nice to see but there are other places to go along your route.

If you're planning on taking in some shows in Vegas the five days is understandable. and if you've never been in the area there are definitely things to do in the vicinity to fill the time. Tour Hoover Dam, drive through Death Valley if you haven't seen it, drive through Valley of Fire State Park which is gorgeous, Red Rock Canyon - pack a lunch and do a hike, the Botanical Gardens, Siegfried & Roy's Dolphin Habitat, etc. Your days will fly by.

Have a good trip!

Stay near Durango, Co and take toad to Ouray and back, beautiful drive.
Reverse your itinerary, North Rim GC, Las Vegas, Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Moab, Yellowstone, Black Hills; just my thoughts.
Have fun

My comment on the Hill City portion. We have been to the Black Hills twice for about four days each time and we are going back again this year for 12 days camping in two places to be sure we have seen it all. It depends on how much you want to cram into each day, but you can hit the highlights during your 4 days from Hill City.
