Hey North Carolina Campers!

Just relocated to Lake Norman area from Indiana in September 2015. We're on the lookout for great places to camp with our Class C. Any NC members on here?

Was part of a Hoosier forum previously that introduced people from around the State and became a great way to meet others. Anything like that here in NC? Anyone interested in something like that?

Favorite NC places

We like New Bern and Wilmington a lot. We stay at the KOAs there, which are owned by the same family. Two of the nicer KOAs we've been to. We also like Fayetteville, and stay at the beautiful Fayetteville RV Resort at Wade, just a little north of town. Fayetteville has a lot of loud cars and motorcycles due to its large military presence, but otherwise is a really nice town.

If you just want some peace and quiet, or if you are a history buff, consider RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads in Roanoke Rapids. Really nice sites. No big malls or theme parks, but plenty of nice little restaurants and shops in the area. It is fairly close to Lake Gaston. There are a LOT of historical sites in the area.

We are going to explore some places that are more inland this year, but I can't offer an opinion until we actually go. We love NC and may move there in a few years. I'm just a little concerned about flying my UK Wildcats flag in Tar Heel country.

Don't forget Asheville and the Biltmore. Also, Mt.Airy is nice in the blue ridge mins. Birthplace of Andy Griffith.

Welcome to NC! It is a great place to live!

Holiday Trav-L Park in Emerald Isle (on the beautiful Crystal Coast) is oceanfront and very nice. The lots are grass and well kept. Our favorite site is lot 50. Level with a good view of the ocean, also it is right next to the bathhouse that is spotless and nicely appointed. We live here and like to take our local outings at this park. If you are a vacationer there is much to do in our area. Should you plan a trip PM me and I will be glad to give you more info on things to see and do.

There are so many great parks in NC. The mountains are beautiful and would be an easy trip for you. The Outer Banks area is peaceful and quiet.
Also be sure to check out The Carolina Campers. We are having a Spring Fling in April in the White Lake area. We usually post our outings in the Southeast Region/Carolina Campers and the info for this April has already been posted. Hope you can join us.

We live in South Carolina but visit North Carolina a lot. Lake Norman is a great place to live. We like to camp at Tom Johnson Campground in Concord so much to do in that area especially if you are a race fan.Our other favorite place is Carowinds Campground
