Hill Country CG Advice

We are planning a trip to the Hill Country area in Texas. We will use San Antonio, Austin, and Fredicksburg as our reference points. In addition to the history of the area, we also want to enjoy the music that is available and of course the good food.

Suggestions for RV parks would be most appreciated. I do know that we want to do the Floors country music venue in Helotes which is NW of San Antonio.

Open for info.

Very good visit is New Braunfels south of Austin. Next door is main attraction, Gruene, Tx. Must stop in for a cool drink at Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas. The place is a Who's Who that has played there. Excellent Texas dining next door to dance hall overlooking Guadalupe River.

While in San Antonio visit the Alamo. Very good dining along the Riverwalk.

I'm sure several others will chime in with best RV parks to stay.

We stayed here two winters in a row. Not a lot of amenities but a great base for exploring the area. 16 miles to San Antonio

We spend a week in the spring and a week in the fall at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park in Fredericksburg. Full hookups for $30 a day or $175 a week. Easy access to Austin, San Antonio and other hill country spots.

Not sure about your timing but the South By Southwest Music Festival is Mar 7-16. I can't speak for RV parks in the area since I live here. I have heard good things about La Hacienda
