We are trying to decide which of these two campgrounds to go to. We will be going in May and this is our first trip to the gulf. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

From our experence it would be Ho-Hum hands down. We were there last Feb and parked in the front row. If you like a great sun rise from your front window then this is the place you want to be....

MaxRT,although they say Ho Hum is on the Gulf its actually on a bay. The gulf waters are out beyond a barrier island. If you want to enjoy the gulf waters you will have to go out to St.George Island. All that said they do have a beautiful sunrise and the dolphins playing out in front of your rv.

I suggest looking at a Florida state park in the panhandle. They all are super nice and so much better than the two parks you have mentioned.

St Andrews or St Joe would be an excellent choice. You have to watch St Joe tho because some sites are not that big and are hard to get into. They do however have a few fantastic sites.

Ditto: We stayed there in nov of last year and were very pleased with the park plus they have a fishing pier. We did see the dolphins and the beauitful sunrises also.
